May-July was rainy, but the crews managed to get all the rough dirt work done, including the road and building beds. This video is the first made, and is on a scale 5 times longer than the others (every frame is a minute of the day. All future videos: Every frame is FIVE minutes of the day). |

By Aug 5, the bed of the hospital foundation was done. Later in this period, some concrete work starts in the loading dock area (far south end of building). |
Aug 16-31 |

|
A lot more of the foundation work was done by late August. |
Sept 1-15 |

September should see the finish to the concrete foundation work, if it ever stops raining! These videos show large puddles filling up and drying out in between good productive time... |

STEEL STARTS GOING UP SEPT 23! Rough-in of plumbing, electrical, etc finishes up. |
Oct 1-15 |

|
With October comes more steel, and things really start hopping ABOVE ground! We've had a couple rainy days, but overall the weather has been fantastic! |
Oct 16-31 |

during this time, steel is finished, CONCRETE (first pour) is done, rough-in of plumbing continues to patient rooms, and roof joists and HVAC curbs are installed!. |

Finally, a building is starting to take shape as walls started going up this period! While rough-in of plumbing and other under-ground work continues in the patient rooms area (to the right), concrete has been poured and walls are going up in the radiology and ER areas (to your left). It's nice to see all levels or work going on at the same time! |

This period showed continued progress with lots of exterior walls going up. Interior walls were also started (but not visible on the web cams). The floor pours were completed, and the roof decking saw major progress. As winter approaches, efforts will focus on getting protection all around for the workers. You might notice the temporary lighting is also functional inside for the shorter winter daylight hours... |

Brrrrrrr.... Workers work frantically to complete the "Dry-In" of the building, meaning closing up the roof and walls so they will be inside, away from the elements. That process won't complete until later this month, but as you can see here, a LOT of progress was made. Rooftop HVAC units are on the decked roof, many walls have sheathing up already. Watch for all the work being done! |

A lot happened these last two weeks, even WITH the holidays! The outside is ready for bricks, and many walls are up inside. The main thing you'll see in this video is the number of people working in COLD conditions to complete the roofing. Now, as the building gets tighter and tighter, temporary heat can offer some relief to the dozens or workers inside for awhile. |
Jan 1-14 |

Not to much to watch from outside in the coldest part of the year. You can see a little roof activity (there's a LOT of activity, but you can only see a little), and you can see that the masons are starting to work on the SE (far left) side of the building. That has GOT to be cold! Watch the "blizzard" on Jan 14, too. |
Jan 15-31 |

The biggest thing to see on the outside for these two weeks is the masonry work being done on the south side (far left of the picture). Otherwise, a LOT is still happening inside as most interior studs are up, and dry-wall has begun to be hung. The worst of winter is over, we hope, so work continues to come along quite nicely... |
Feb 1-15 |
|

Much work continues inside (all walls are up!), but as the weather starts to improve, watch for more and more activity soon! |
Feb 16-28 |
|
wmv |
As the weather warms up, work continues inside and out. Later in this time period, you can see that the masons have rounded the corner on the right, and work the first wall on the patient wing. Look for lots of progress on this with the next video. Inside, it's hard to keep up! |

Full steam ahead! Inside, walls are being painted, cabinetry installed. Outside, masonry is nearly complete in the courtyard (out of view). Canopy work has progressed (new plastic protects work from the weather). Weather is getting NICE, finally! |

Canopy tops are going on, Canopy finish work is done, windows are going in (some out of sight), and the most visible hospital work is the final wall for the masons! But the big news this period is the start on the new Supportive Living Facility, just north of Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage! You can watch it all, right here... |
Apr 1-15 |
|
|
As the weather improves, dirt work at the hospital can start as does parking lot and road work. At the SLF, you can see plumbing rough-in before the floor is poured, which starts at the end of this series. Lots getting done, now! |
Apr 16-30 |
|
|
This is crunch time, and the hospital is on track to be substantially done by the first week of June at the latest. The work inside is moving nicely, but Mother Nature has tossed a lot of rain at the crews doing parking lots, curbs, roads, etc outside. For the SLF, it's ALL outside, but still, they got the floor poured and started on the block walls... Let's hope it dries up! |
May 1-15 |
|
|
The hospital is nearly done! Inside, flooring is down, final paint being applied, cabinetry finishing in progress. OUTSIDE, the weather has been very wet, but now we are drying, and work is full-speed ahead on paving and landscaping. GRAND OPENING is July 12! As for the Supportive Living Facility at Hickory Grove Apartments, work is going great. This video shows 2 weeks of great prgress with all walls being put up, and over half of the roof trusses in place! |
May 16-31 |
|
|
The hospital is nearly done! Inside, equipment is being moved, and final touches applied. )utside, the weather continues to challenge the grounds work and paving, but as you'll see, some of it gets done. Only 6 weeks until the public ribbon-cutting and dedication! Across town, work on Hickory Grove Apartments finally picks up the pace (in between rains) and you can see a LOT getting done! |
