REGULAR
MEETING
The regular meeting of the
Carthage City Council was held
Motion was made by Alderman
Duffy, seconded by Fleming to appoint Alderman Walker as Mayor Pro Temp.
Answering “yes” were Aldermen Duffy, Smith, Fleming, Neally, and Sealock.
Alderman Walker abstained.
Motion was made by Alderman
Smith, seconded by Fleming to approve Feb 8th meeting minutes. All
six Aldermen answered “aye”
City Attorney Glidden reported
that Kurt Neff has contracted with Steve Bentzinger to clean up the property on
Buchanan. Progress is being made following the 30-day notice issued last month.
Motion was made by Alderman
Smith, seconded by Fleming to allow Memorial Hospital to block So Washington
Street for one block in order to hold the 3 on 3 tournament June 25th.
All six Aldermen voted “yes”.
Motion was made by Alderman
Smith, seconded by Duffy to allow the Fire Department to purchase the budgeted
300 foot, 5” hose for $1700.00 All six Aldermen voted “yes”.
Alderman Smith reported that
the Fire Department would start the siren testing for Tornado warnings March 1st
at 10:00 AM.
The Safety Committee Meeting
is re-scheduled for March 2nd at 7:00 PM at City Hall.
Alderman Fleming reported that
the bids would be opened on Thursday, February 24, 2005 at 2:00 for the
landfill project. Alderman Fleming also reported that the Sewer line had been
completed on the TNT oil site.
Motion was made by Alderman
Fleming, seconded by Sealock to allow the Codes Enforcer, Ron Schulz, to
approve the potential expansion plans for Memorial Hospital. They are looking
at a multiple unit, assisted living center to be added to the current Nursing
Home. All six Aldermen voted “yes”.

Smith, seconded by Duffy to adjourn at 8:42PM.
