Library Summer Reading Activity Sessions Begin

Activity sessions for children ages 3 and up begin on June 6, and continue through July 28; however there will be no sessions the week of July 2-8. Three different times are available to choose from: Tuesday mornings (9:30-11:00), Wednesday afternoons (1:30-3:00) and Thursday mornings (9:30-10:45). All weekly sessions will have the same theme and content, but the Thursday morning sessions are geared toward preschool children (3-5 years). Families are asked to choose the one session that works best for their schedule. Activity sessions will include books, crafts, activities, and snacks. The themes for these sessions include: Robots, Tools, Interior Design, Buildings & Structures, Animal Architects, Mad Science and Kids in the Kitchen.

Middle School and High School students are encouraged to attend the Tween/Teen activity sessions on Thursday afternoons from 1:00-3:00. Plans include architecture, Pinterest crafts, LEGO Mindstorm, and cupcake decorating wars. T(w)eens are also welcome and needed to assist with the activity sessions for children.

Carthage Lions Club

Carthage Lions Club meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month.  Dinner is 6:30 PM and meeting begins at 7:00 PM.  Location is Eagles Club, 519 N. Madison, Carthage.  All members are welcome!

SOAR

Following a quick snack, youth volunteers will read to children and help beginners read aloud. This is a great opportunity for children to practice their reading skills. Children 4 years through 2nd grade are invited to attend.
