Convergence!!
In March, 2006, the Carthage, Dallas City, and LaHarpe school districts voted to combine their high schools starting in the 2007/2008 school year. Elementary districts will remain. This action will allow the larger, combined high school to offer a wider variety of competitive classes, both to vo-tech students and to college-bound students. This new High School district will be a proud combination of districts that have served their students well, but will now be able to do even better.

Carthage students are still in school, so please be careful driving. They are all studying pretty hard, but there's still time for play, so we don't want any accidents...

Keep watching here, and on the individual school sites, for more school information and fun!

Be safe, we love our kids!

Illini West High School was formed in 2006 as a convergence of Carthage, Dallas City, and LaHarpe high school districts, the first of its kind in Illinois. The school district officially started on July 1, 2007, after many months of hard work and preparation by the 3 former districts. For now, classes are held in Carthage at the site of the former Carthage High School.

The school district's superintendent, Dr. Mike Mauzy, can be contacted via the Carthage Community Unit School District #307 Superintendent's Office, 96 S Madison Street, Carthage, or at (217) 357-9607.

The district is very active in sports and extra-cirricular academics. You can find examples of this at the district pages, as the students help them evolve.
