Carthage can be PROUD of it's insurance fire rating of "5", one of the best available to volunteers. Please, THANK these people when you get a chance. 217-357-3800 Carthage Industrial Development Corporation (CIDC) was formed in 1969 for the purpose of enhancing Carthage's development potential. From the bringing of Methode to Carthage in 1975, to enabling it to expand onto nearby property, CIDC has been doing just that. Now, with a new 4-lane highway coming from the south and going east, CIDC has purchased 2 parcels of land in the highway's path for the purpose of expanding Carthage's business sector.
