Overview

The Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce is proud to sponsor the Strawberry Festival. The festival will be held on Friday June 10, and Saturday, June 11, 2005. Carthage is located te miles east of where Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri meet at the Mississippi River. The festival takes place on the beautiful courthouse square located in the heart of the Carthage community. Come see what a small town has to offer

Food and fun abound during this two day event which boasts the famous Strawberry Strut, the Strawberry Blossom, Junior Strawberry Blossom, and Miss Strawberry Pageants, a custom car show, front window decorating contest, entertainment, and lots of strawbery goodies!

The Strawberry Festival is home to three very special beauty pageants. There is teh Little Miss Strawberry Blossom Pageant, Junior Miss Strawberry Princess Pageant, and Miss Strawberry Queen Pageant. All of the pageants take place at the courthouse square on Friday.

Strawberry Strut

On Saturday morning the 27th annual Strawberry Strut race will take place. This race is the Tri-States oldest race and is a certified course. It starts with a one mile fun run that is excellent for children because they offer so many age groups that almost every child gets a ribbon. Then the five mile race takes place, and awards will be given for several categories. There is also a WALK version of the race, for those wanting to enjoy the beauty of walking the lake road without all the agony of running!
