The Carthage Area Chamber of Commerce, starting in 2005, has established a special level of membership called the PACESETTER member. PACESETTERs are those companies, businesses, or individuals who have a deep interest in furthering the goals and strategies of the Chamber, and have backed that interest up with at least a $500 member fee to the Chamber in the current calendar year.

PACESETTER Requirements
To become a PACESETTER, a company/business/individual only has to inform the Chamber office of their desire to do so, and provide their membership check of $500 or more.
PACESETTER Benefits
The PACESETTER membership is meant as a means for those interested in helping the Chamber to fund and administer its programs to do so.
There are no promised direct benefits to PACESETTER members, and members attain that status of their own free will. That being said, the
Chamber wishes to THANK all members who reach PACESETTER status in any feasible way possible.
Possible ways of saying THANK YOU to PACESETTER members include:
- Distinctive presentation in the Chamber's web listing of businesses.
- Placement on the News Banner area of all Chamber web pages for a period after they first join
- Inclusion on this special PACESETTER recognition page for the duration of their membership
- Announcement of their membership in the Hancock County Journal Pilot soon after they join
- Prominent placement whenever possible on Chamber literature
